MADRID — Charlotte women's basketball arrived into the Spanish capital city Madrid early Thursday morning after a long, overnight flight. The arrival was much welcomed by the entire travel party of nearly 30, a chance to get up and stretch after the journey across the Atlantic.

Upon arrival, and once through customs, the 49ers were greeted by members of Sports Tours International, who led the group to the motor coach. Next up was a bus tour around the city, with local tour guide Rosa providing details of buildings, landmarks, fountains and parks among other sites.
