CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An undefeated start for the Charlotte women's soccer team was unable to be carried over to its home opener Sunday night, as the 49ers dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 25-ranked Wake Forest at Transamerica Field.

"We were excited to open up our home schedule against a quality opponent in Wake Forest," head coach said. "We knew it was going to be a real tough game for us and I thought for the first 45 minutes we played well. We had a couple chances and we defended them well.
