The Charlotte 49ers (1-0-2) lost to the Georgia Bulldogs (2-0-1) in a match at Transamerica Field in Charlotte on Friday night.
Coming off a victory against UNCG on Monday, the Niners couldn’t seem to find the back of the net, despite firing off 13 shots to Georgia’s 11. Charlotte also had five corners while Georgia had nine.
The 49ers came close to scoring several times, including a rocket off the foot of senior midfielder Virginia Lingo from the top of the box that ended in a fingertip save.
In the 56th minute, Georgia scored their lone goal off of a corner that Bulldog defender Caroline Chipman deflected into the net.
