CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte women's basketball continued making a dent into the national picture this week, as the 49ers received a vote in the Monday release of the Associated Press poll.
The singular vote slots the Niners in 36th in the poll and places them in discussion for upcoming weekly tabulations based on results.
Charlotte last received votes in the AP poll March 4, 2013, on the cusp of its final Atlantic 10 Championships appearance before rejoining Conference USA the following campaign. The 49ers finished that season, the second under head coach Cara Consuegra, 26-6 and advanced to the WNIT Sweet 16.
