CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The historic second day of the MLB Draft continued for Charlotte early Tuesday evening as T.J. Nichting was selected in the ninth round (278 overall) by the Baltimore Orioles. Nichting's pick up marks the 49ers third top-ten pick today, all going to the parent clubs of the American League's eastern division. Nichting joins Brett Netzer (Boston) and Colton Laws (Toronto) as draft picks on day two.
"We're happy as well for T.J.," wrapped up Hibbs. "That's another value pick on a non-drafted guy out of high school and that speaks volumes to our player development.
