CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the second time on Tuesday afternoon, the Charlotte 49ers baseball program had a top-10 draft pick as Colton Laws became a seventh round draft pick (219 overall) of the Toronto Blue Jays. The selection gives Charlotte their first-ever two top-10 picks in the same draft and their 11th overall. Laws becomes the 50th drafted player in Charlotte history as the right-hander is the fifth draftee of the Blue Jays and first since Brad McElroy in 2009.
"We're all just thrilled for Laws," started Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "He's another guy not drafted after high school and developed into seventh round pick.
