DALLAS, Texas – Charlotte men's golf struggled through round one before shaving eight strokes off in round two to sit in a tie for 12th after 36 holes of the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate on Monday. The tournament is played in the "Maxwell" format where the five-player team all plays together.
In round one, Conor Purcell led the way with a one-under 70 bouncing back after a pair of bogies over his first six holes. Starting with a birdie on 18, beginning his day on eight in the shotgun start, a following birdie on one and last on five put him in red figures for the opening round.
