Men's Golf Dominates River Run Collegiate by 31 Shots; Sharpstene Eagles 18 to Win by One over Woodruff

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Charlotte men's golf was the only team in red figures firing an eight-under 280 in soggy conditions, their best round of the tournament, to capture the River Run Collegiate by a whopping 31 shots in rainy conditions Tuesday. Matt Sharpstene drained an eagle three on the par five 18th to overtake teammate Ben Woodruff by one shot to win individual medalist honors. Four Niners ended up in the field's top-five.

"It was a great team win," began Head Coach Ryan Cabbage. "I think I'm probably the happiest with the fact that as a team, we started the day with a 15-shot lead and one goal that I gave to the guys was to basically forget about the lead and let's go see how good we can be today.
