TUCKAHOE, Va. – The Charlotte 49ers men's golf team shot a three-under 285 as a team to sit in sixth place after round one of the Janney Shootout. Day one was reduced to just 18 holes due to a nearly five-hour rain delay. Due to the weather, the event has been shortened to a 36-hole outing with the final round beginning at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday morning.
John Gough led the Niners with a three-under round of 69 on Monday starting with four-straight pars en route to a near perfect day. Gough posted his first of three birdies on the par four 16th and then again on the par-five 18th, his seventh hole of the day, to sit two-under.
