For the second time in his career, red-shirt senior Trey McRae took home the performer of the meet honor after his success in the Conference USA track and field championship.
McRae left the championship weekend with some more hardware, winning gold in the long, high and triple jump. McRae set a new league record, becoming the first competitor to win both the long and high jump since 2008.
Adding to his accolades McRae earned the title Highest Point Scorer of the Meet, bringing in 30 of the Charlotte men’s 96 points. Those 96 points are the most in the program’s history since becoming a member of Conference USA.
