IRVING, Texas – Charlotte women's soccer's Mary Manser has been honored as one of 14 student-athletes around Conference USA, and as the 49ers' choice, for the league's fall Spirit of Service Award. It marks the second-straight fall in which a women's soccer player has been chosen, following Martha Thomas' accolade in 2016.

The award, which recognizes one student-athlete from each school by commissioner Judy MacLeod during the fall sports season including football, soccer, volleyball and cross country, is designed to highlight the community service efforts of the league's student-athletes. It's based upon significant community service, good academic standing and participation in their elected sport and is presented three times throughout the year with winter and spring to follow.
