IRVING, Texas – Charlotte junior women's soccer forward Mary Manser has been selected as the 49ers' recipient of the Fall 2018 Conference USA Spirit of Service Award, as announced by the league office Wednesday. It marks the second-straight year in which Manser has been the honoree and the third-consecutive fall term in which it was presented to a Charlotte women's soccer player, also including Martha Thomas' accolade in 2016.
Manser, a Mooresville, North Carolina, product has totaled over 20 hours of community service since the start of the school year. A member of the SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee), she has participated in the SAAC Cares Holiday Drive, volunteered at the Be The Match 5K, helped with the Spectrum Housing Assistance Initiative, delivered meals with Friendship Trays and was active with the Thanksgiving Food Drive.
