INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Recent Charlotte women's soccer student-athlete Mary Manser has reached the next level of the NCAA Woman of the Year nomination process, as she was selected as one of two nominees from Conference USA it was announced Tuesday afternoon. Manser joins Rice women's basketball student-athlete Erica Ogwumike as the two league selections.
NARROWING THE FIELD
With Manser's conference-level nomination, she advances to the next round which includes 161 student-athletes, 59 in Division I, down from an original record of 605. Each member of the conference-level nominations now is forwarded onto the NCAA Woman of the Year Selection Committee, which will pick the top 10 honorees in each of the three NCAA divisions.
