Let Me Play passes record $200,000 mark

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The annual Let Me Play luncheon, an event to raise money for women's sports scholarships, was held Wednesday at the Charlotte Convention Center in Uptown Charlotte. The event has already surpassed the $200,000 mark, exceeding the program's previous record set in 2013.

The 13th annual luncheon was highlighted by the keynote address from Lynn Good, chairman, president and CEO of Duke Energy, who served as this year's chairperson. The athlete's perspective speech was delivered by David Marsh, 2016 USA Olympic Head Women's Swimming Coach.

The event, conceived by Charlotte 49ers Director of Athletics Judy Rose, is designed to mobilize influential women in the Charlotte area in support of women's athletics and share with them the importance athletic participation can play in the development of young women.
