LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Charlotte track and field team had a strong meet at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier on Wednesday in preparation for the Conference USA Outdoor Championships as the team collected eight personal records on the day.
Jala Laws started the meet with a new personal record in the discus after her throw of 39.74m (130'-4") to place eighth in the event. Laws picked up her second personal best of the day, this time in the hammer, after her throw of 45.90m (150'-7") to place eighth. In the women's pole vault, Riley Felts was the top Charlotte finisher after she cleared a season-best vault of 3.
