MIAMI, Fla. – Charlotte starter Colton Laws ran his scoreless streak to 27.1 innings after seven more shutout innings leading the way in a 4-0 blanking of FIU on Friday night. The 49ers win their second-straight Conference USA opener behind Laws' three-hit shutout over seven for the second-straight outing.
"We got the series off to a good start," stated Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "Laws was good and Brooks was good. Pitching tonight was outstanding. Offensively, we executed a hit-and-run and took advantage of a couple of miscues by their pitcher. Being able to execute like that in the third inning was huge.
