CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte baseball rallied back to take a one-run lead after seven, but saw visiting Rice rally in the 8th holding on for a 6-4 victory in Friday night's Conference USA series opener. Charlotte erased a 3-1 early deficit to take a 4-3 lead before the Owls quickly plated three in the eighth for the difference.
"We never got into a rhythm getting off to a poor start," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "Rice is a very talented team and have been playing extremely well the last couple of weeks. We need to match their effort tomorrow and Sunday.
