IRVING, Texas – Charlotte sophomore guard Grace Hunter is the January 9 Conference USA Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday. It is her second honor this season and fourth overall for the 49ers in 2016-17.
Hunter, a Raleigh, North Carolina, product averaged a double-double of 24.0 points and 11.5 rebounds as Charlotte knocked off preseason league favorite WKU and contender Marshall to extend its current win streak to nine and remain unbeaten in conference play.
She lit up the scoreboard against the Lady Toppers, tying her career high with 32 points on 13-of-24 field goals, including a 3-of-3 performance from behind the 3-point arc, and adding 3-of-5 free throws.
