Entering Wednesday night’s matchup in Charlotte, the San Antonio Spurs rode an NBA-best six game winning streak. Most notably, with a victory against the Golden State Warriors this past Saturday. Meanwhile, Charlotte came into the matchup winners of 10 of their last 12 games.
Through the game’s opening quarter, San Antonio had its way on offense. Stretching out to a 28-7 lead after the first quarter, the Spurs shred the Hornets’ defense with crisp ball movement. With just seven points in the first quarter, the Hornets scored the lowest quarter total of any NBA team this season.
