CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Charlotte softball pitching staff limited a potent UNC Chapel Hill offense to only five hits, but three of those hits cleared the fence for home runs in a 5-1 defeat at Anderson Stadium Tuesday night.
The loss drops the 49ers to 15-8 on the season while the Tar Heels extend their winning streak to 11 games and improve their overall record to 16-4.
Things went perfectly according to the script in the top of the 1st inning as the 49ers quickly jumped out to a 1-0 lead. Sophomore outfielder Kiersten Berrier led off the game with a walk after working the count full.
