Charlotte first-year head football coach Will Healy has announced the hiring of Tommy Langford as nickels coach. Langford, who completes Healy's coaching staff, comes to the 49ers from Christ School in Arden, N.C., where he led the Greenies to the 2018 NCISAA Division I state championship game.
Langford was hired at Christ School as an assistant in 2017 before taking over as head coach for the 2018 season. The Greenies went 10-2, this past season and finished as state runners-up following a 43-14 loss to Charlotte Christian in the title game. In 2017, he was the team's special teams coordinator, strength and speed coordinator and linebackers and quarterbacks coach.
