Charlotte 49ers redshirt junior defensive end Tyriq Harris (Roanoke, Va./Hidden Valley) has been named to the Google Cloud Academic all-District 3 team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Harris is one of 25 selections to the District 3 team. District 3 is made up of NCAA Division I schools from North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. The 25-player team includes 11 offensive and defensive players, a kicker, punter and special teams selection.
Harris, who owns a 3.63 GPA as a biology major, will now be placed on the national ballot for Google Cloud Academic all-America honors.
