CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte volleyball's Yumi Garcia has picked up Conference USA's Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time in four weeks announced on Monday afternoon. Garcia led the 49ers defensive efforts during a 3-1 week which included a 3-2 win over rival Davidson and three-set sweep over Virginia Tech, the first power five victory for volleyball since 2010.
DIGGING TO THE TOP
Garcia started with 39 digs and six assists in the come-from-behind rivalry win over Davidson before adding 23 and 24 digs against Arkansas State and Chattanooga to open up the Hokie Invitational.
