CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Facing another top-25 team in six days, the Charlotte volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-21) decision to #18 Rice on Friday night. The Owls move to 20-1 on the year and remain unbeaten in C-USA play at 9-0 while the 49ers even out to 13-13, 2-7.
"It wasn't our night offensively," began Head Coach Karen Weatherington. "We executed well with our game plan, but it was a bummer not to see us come through offensively. It was a great defensive match by Rice and they're ranked for a reason. We're really glad we stayed competitive all the way through at a pretty high level.
