CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte volleyball's Yumi Garcia has earned another national accolade being named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-South Region team announced on Tuesday. Garcia now moves to the national ballot after being selected by the all-region committee last week.
"Yumi is one of the greatest to ever don a Charlotte 49ers volleyball jersey," started Head Coach Karen Weatherington. "The AVCA's recognition of her as a three-time all-South Region first team member is a historical first for our program. This selection identifies her among the top 140 division one volleyball athletes in the nation and puts her in contention for All-American honors.
