ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The Charlotte women's tennis team swept through its competition Friday afternoon, knocking off South Carolina State 4-0 on the road to begin a two-match slate in a 24-hour period. The win for the 49ers is their second-in-a-row and marks the third shutout of the spring campaign.
"Today was another great team win," head coach Michaela Gorman said.
Charlotte (9-5) opened the contest by picking up the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 tilts, including not conceding a game in the latter. The Niners' No. 3 pair of sophomore Alexandra Lee and senior Macy Vonderschmidt swept Oleksandra Filippova and Smaranda Peteanu 6-0.
