Fourth quarter rally leads Niners to Sunday win

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte women's basketball flipped the script in the fourth quarter on a 16-0 run before earning an eight-point, 71-63, victory Sunday afternoon against Presbyterian inside Halton Arena. The win keeps the 49ers unbeaten at home early in the non-conference campaign.

The triumph also marked No. 94 in the head coaching career of Cara Consuegra, moving her into sole possession of second place on the school's all-time list and passing current director of athletics Judy Rose (1976-82). It also marked only the second time since the NCAA switched to the four-quarters system last year in which Charlotte (3-1) overcame a deficit entering the final period to pull out a victory.
