CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte men’s and women’s track and field teams got off to an impressive start to their outdoor season, with four first-place finishes, including a new school record from junior Victoria Merriweather in the women’s hammer throw to conclude the first full day at the 49er Classic at the Belk Track on campus.
Merriweather shattered the previous record by more than nine feet (set by Chelsea McLean, 2011). She began her junior indoor season the same way, setting a new-indoor record in the weight throw.
