CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- After solid showings at the 2016 Conference USA Outdoor Championships last weekend, the success continues for Charlotte track and field, as eight Niners were announced as regional qualifers.
The eight will compete in the NCAA East Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Fla., this weekend beginning Thursday May 26.
Five men and three women made the cut, after posting marks in the Top 48 of the East Region. The Top 12 from the East and Top 12 from the West region will advance to the NCAA Finals in Eugene, Ore., later this summer.
Leading the charge for the men is senior three-time All-American Trey McRae, who will compete in both the high and long jump events.
