Charlotte, N.C. – Head coach Kevin Langan, who was the 2016 Conference USA Coach of the Year, of the Charlotte 49ers nationally-ranked men's soccer program announced the promotion of Brian Edwards to assistant coach. Edwards served as the 49ers part-time goalkeepers coach this past season and in the 2013 season. Prior to returning to Charlotte, Edwards spent two seasons as a member of the Hofstra University coaching staff.
Edwards replaces long-time assistant coach Kyle Gookins, who recently was named the head coach at Stetson University.
"We are very excited that Brian will be joining us full-time," Langan said.
