Senior Ny Hammonds was winding down her Charlotte 49ers women’s basketball career in 2014, on her way to earning All-Conference USA Second Team honors. She would etch her name into the program’s record books several times, including graduating as the school’s all-time assists leader before being passed a few years later by Laia Raventós.
Hammonds, however, left one mark that reached a national scale. The native of nearby Concord registered a triple-double in each of her final two Halton Arena games – wins over Conference USA opponents FIU and Marshall.
