Charlotte 49ers junior defensive back Ben DeLuca (Orlando, Fla.) has been named to the 2018 Preseason all-Conference USA football team in a vote by the league's coaches.
DeLuca earned 2017 Honorable Mention all-Conference USA honors after leading the NCAA with five forced fumbles and ranking fourth in C-USA with 9.3 tackles. As a freshman in 2016, DeLuca was named to the C-USA all-Freshman team and was named a First Team Freshman all-America by Pro Football Focus. Campus Insiders named him an Honorable Mention Freshman all-America.
A two-year starting safety, DeLuca ranks third all-time in school history with 170 career tackles.
