Over 40 Charlotte 49ers student-athletes took part in the UNC Charlotte Dance Marathon to benefit Levine Children's Hospital, Saturday, Apr. 7. The event was held on-campus on the recreational courts overlooking Halton Arena.

In particular, the 49ers participated in the "Athlete Hour", which ran from 7-8 p.m. and included a Hula Hoop Race, a Carpet Ride Race, an Egg and Spoon Relay, a Bojangles' Easting Contest and a Chubby Bunny Challenge. Student-athletes remained after the Athlete Hour to enjoy the rest of the festivities.

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) member Austin Gallagher of the 49ers track and field team, orchestrated the 49ers involvement in the marathon as part of the year-long SAAC Cares initiative.
