TAMPA, Fla. – Sophomore Elijah Cole propelled his way to the NCAA Track and Field Championships, after a personal best performance at the NCAA East Preliminary Round, hosted by the University of South Florida Thursday.
Cole elected not to make an attempt at the opening height, before clearing the bar on the first attempt at 5.00m (16' 4.75"), 5.15m (16' 10.75"), and 5.25m (17' 2.75"). He matched his personal record and the second best height in program history, which he set earlier this season at the Charlotte Invitational.
Ryan Lipe (Alabama) and Coty Cobb (Ohio State) matched the mark of 5.
