Charlotte’s Historic Season Ends in NIT Championship Loss

ROME, Ga. — No. 48 Charlotte Women's Tennis's season ended on Friday after being swept by No. 57 Washington State in the NIT Championship at the Rome Tennis Center. The latter didn't yield a point through its flawless championship run.

Washington State jumped ahead quickly, just as in its previous two NIT matchups. The Cougars entered Friday's final without dropping a point, and continued the trend with wins at No. 1 and eventually No. 3 doubles, 6-2, to earn the opening tally.

They continued the momentum in singles when Chisato Kanemaki upended Prisca Abbas, 6-3, 6-0 at No.
