Despite trailing only by one at the end of the half, Charlotte could not hold the lead for long as they fall to Middle Tennessee State 64–45.
Charlotte freshman Octavia Wilson started off the game with an easy jumper 17 seconds in to the game. Charlotte had their biggest lead of the game, leading 11–2 with five minutes left to play in the first quarter. Before the buzzer could sound off, junior Laia Raventos hit a baseline 12-footer to give the Niners the 18–10 lead.
The late basket did not affect the Blue Raiders as they started the second quarter off with a 7–0 run to cut Charlotte’s lead down to one with 5:44 left to play in the first half.
