The Charlotte 49ers (21-16) split a road doubleheader against the Furman Purple Paladins (19-20) on Wednesday, April 6, in Greenville, S.C. Coming off their bye weekend in conference play, the 49ers softball team came out sluggish, losing the first game, but got the offense rolled again to pick up the win in game two. The Charlotte defense showed up in the second game as well, as Hailey Wiseman (8-6) threw the ninth shutout of the season for the 49ers.

The strong pitching of Furman quieted the Charlotte bats in the first game of the afternoon, a 6-1 loss for the 49ers.
