In their final conference series and home games of the season, the Charlotte 49ers (32-23, 11-13 C-USA) lost two of their three games against the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters (31-20, 12-9 C-USA), falling 6-0 and 7-4 in the Saturday doubleheader and winning 6-2 in the Sunday matinee. Needing two victories to secure their place in the conference tournament, the 49ers didn’t get the results they wanted from themselves or other teams in the conference, leaving them as the odd team out in a three-way tie for the last two seeds.
