Charlotte men's XC win second conference title in history, women's team finishes in second

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the first time since 2002 and second time in history, the Charlotte men's cross country team won the Conference USA XC Championships with 31 total points, followed by defending champions MTSU with 74 points at Veterans Park. Sophomore Nick Scudder came out hot and stayed in the lead for the entirety of the race to claim the individual conference title with an 8k personal record time of 23:36.28.

The 49ers men's team swept the conference awards as Scudder won the meet, Paul Arredondo claimed the Outstanding Senior award after his silver-medal finish, Avery Cannon bringing home Freshman of the Meet honors with an 11-place finish and head coach Joseph Lynn being named the Men's XC Coach of the Year by the conference.
