The Charlotte 49ers men’s basketball team 2016-2017 campaign began earlier than normal. To conclude their summer, the 49ers traveled north to Canada to play three exhibition games against Canadian colleges in an eight-day span.
This is the first time in school history Charlotte has gone abroad to practice. It isn’t, however the first time the team has traveled to play. Charlotte participated in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament last season in the Bahamas and in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off in 2013, winning the tournament in stunning fashion.
The 49ers will be led by senior Braxton Ogbueze and sophomores Jon Davis and Andrien White, who made the Conference USA All-Freshman team last year.
