FRISCO, Texas — No. 6 seed Charlotte women's basketball built a 19-point first round lead early in the fourth quarter then withstood a large rally from No. 11 seed North Texas, as the margin closed to two, to post a 71-67 victory Wednesday afternoon in the Air Force Reserve Conference USA Championships presented by Baylor Scott and White Sports Performance Center at The Star.
The win moves the 49ers into the tournament's quarterfinals for the second-straight year.
