In a season where Charlotte has had their share of walk-off wins, the 49ers have dropped two straight games off of walk-offs, this time to Louisiana Tech 3-2 in Ruston, La, Thursday night.
Sean Geoghegan received the ball on the bump for the 49ers to start off their second Conference USA series, going 5.2 innings while giving up two runs (one earned) on eight hits. The 49ers were unable to give Geoghegan much support, only piecing together five hits, and surrendering two errors.
The 49ers jumped on the Bulldogs in the first as Reece Hampton continued his success at the plate, singling to lead off the game.
