Charlotte falls to Kent State after claiming early lead

Charlotte (5-6) gets swept by the Kent State Golden Flashes, using six pitchers and losing 11-3 in the series finale after putting up three runs in the first inning off of a Drew Ober homerun.

“We got off to a great start,” said coach Loren Hibbs. “Really good swing by Ober in the first inning. Our pregame was good. Just didn’t make the adjustments that we needed to make over the course of the game.”

As coach Hibbs mentioned after the game, Ober crushed a ball to deep left field, hitting his first collegiate homerun, as well as bringing in two other teammates to give the 49ers a quick 3-0 lead in the first.
