Charlotte rebounded from Friday Night’s loss with a dominating 3-0 shutout victory against UTSA. The Niners (8-4, 3-1 C-USA), led by captain Martha Thomas, controlled the entire match against a struggling Roadrunners squad (2-9, 1-3 C-USA).
Charlotte scored their first goal of the game in the 29th minute, when Sophie Sipprell hit a hard shot saved by the UTSA goalie Michelle Cole, which led to a rebound goal by Megan Greene, her 8th goal of the season. Charlotte took their 1-0 lead into halftime.
Charlotte came out of the intermission scoring early. In the 54th minute senior forward, Martha Thomas, maneuvered her way through the UTSA defense and shot near post for the goal.
