CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The home-opening doubleheader for the Charlotte women's tennis program Sunday finished with a 6-1 victory for the 49ers against Wingate at the Life Time Fitness indoors facility in south Charlotte. The 49ers had opened the day by garnering a 6-1 triumph over Wofford earlier.
DOUBLES POINT, AGAIN
The Niners picked up their second-straight doubles point by winning at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions, taking the 1-0 lead into singles. The sophomore tandem of Kaavya Sawhney and Ruxi Schech, who nearly pulled off a win earlier in the day before its match was left unfinished, wasted little time in dispatching the Bulldogs' top duo of Elena Bompieri and Sarah Huynh with a 6-0 triumph.
