The Charlotte 49ers (20-28, 9-15 C-USA) needed a dominant performance from Holden Capps (W, 4-1) in his first career start in a Charlotte uniform to propel themselves past the Old Dominion Monarchs Sunday afternoon 5-2, also getting help from a couple long balls from Logan Sherer and Zach Jarrett.

The Charlotte offense didn’t waste anytime providing run support for Capps on Sunday, scoring one in the first off of a Logan Sherer single up the middle, bringing in Brett Netzer who led off with a double to center.
