Charlotte adds two women’s tennis signees

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte head women's tennis coach Michaela Gorman has announced the addition of two players to her roster for the 2017-18 campaign, as both players have signed National Letters of Intent. The newest 49ers include Rocio Safont Branchadell of Burriana, Spain, and Emma Scott of Syosset, New York.

"We are all very excited to add Emma and Rocio to our team," Gorman said. "They are not only great tennis players, but also great people. We look for them to make an immediate impact both on and off the court."

Various highlights from their respective careers to-date are listed below:

Rocio Safont Branchadell (Burriana, Spain)
-- Garnered a high women's open ranking of 61 in Spain
-- Won several Spanish Open tournaments in Vall d'Uxo, Nules, Burriana and Vinaroz
-- Captured the U15 and U16 OUATT Doubles World Final Tournaments in France
-- Picked up past tournament victories two times at the Provincial Circuit of Castellón at the Babolat Cup in Valencia
-- Registered a semifinal appearance at the Spanish Championships by regions with Comunidad Valenciana
