Catching Up With 2016 Seniors In The Pros

Since the Charlotte 49ers men's soccer program's inauguration in 1976, the team has graduated 45 players to the professional level, on average more than one per season. Graduates have played across the globe including a number of teams in Europe, but former 49ers' most notable presence is in the growing professional soccer leagues in the United States. This past season, two graduating 49ers (Brandt Bronico and Matej Dekovic) were drafted in the 2017 MLS Superdraft; both by the Chicago Fire. In addition to Bronico and Dekovic, Maxi Rodriguez (San Antonio FC) and Luke Waechter (Charlotte Independence) joined the professional ranks in the USL ahead of the 2017 campaign.
