Cannon Shines, Offense Erupts in Game 2; Split DH

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Freshman Maggie Cannon struck out a career-high seven, held Middle Tennessee to three hits and earned the complete-game win as Charlotte trounced the Blue Raiders 9-2 with 16 hits in game two. Middle Tennessee snipped game one, 6-5 in 11 innings at Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium on Saturday.

Charlotte's (11-21, 3-8) offense was on full display Saturday as the 49ers combined for 14 runs on 30 hits with four doubles, three home runs and a triple, splitting the doubleheader with Middle Tennessee (21-16, 5-3).

GAME ONE

In what was the longest game of the season, a 6-5 contest in favor of Middle Tennessee at three hours and ten minutes that took 11 innings to play, Charlotte had four individuals with multi-hit games.
