DALLAS, Texas – The results for the 2016 Conference USA men's and women's cross country coaches preseason poll has been released with the Charlotte women's team tabbed to finish fourth and the Charlotte men's team picked to finish fifth, the league announced Wednesday morning.
The women's cross country squad will be led by redshirt senior Carolina Casin-Silva who was Charlotte's top team finisher in four of six meets in 2015 and recorded a personal record of 18.23.9 in the 5K at the Conference USA Championships to earn Third Team All-C-USA honors. Senior Ashleigh Handchen will also look to turn in a strong season after a solid 2015 in which she had three top-20 finishes and competed at the NCAA Regionals.
